Water softeners for households

In general, water hardness is a technical problem. High hardness causes a number of problems ranging from pipe drainage through radical downtime of appliances to high water heating bills. It is therefore necessary to reduce the hardness of the water to a level where water is not eliminated from the water either at all or only to a limited extent.

The most optimal way is to centrally soften the water on cationic water softeners of the proper size. It is an ion-exchange method of treatment where the exchangeable sodium ions are bound on a special synthetic resin cation exchange resin. In the case of hard water flow through this resin, calcium and magnesium ions (causing water hardness) are captured and mixed with sodium ions. This makes the water effectively softened, free of total water hardness, both carbonate and calcium. Sodium compounds do not produce inlays such as calcium and magnesium.
